If you’re one of those people (like me) who worry about stinky, moldy bacteria growing in your water bottle, Clean Bottle is for you. It’s designed with a leak-proof, screw-off bottom. Gone are the days of adding white vinegar or bleach and soaking bottles overnight to get them clean. Just screw off the bottom, take off the top, and wash your bottle with warm soapy water. Rinse the bottle and put it on a rack to air-dry, or dry it with a dish towel. It’s also dishwasher safe.
Clean Bottle is made from non-toxic plastic and it’s BPA-free. Good marks so far. How did it perform on the bike? It’s a bit narrower than my other water bottles, so doesn’t fit snugly into my water bottle clip. This hasn’t caused a problem yet, but a slightly bouncy water bottle could be annoying on bumpy roads. Another thing to watch for is the plastic washer inserted in the screw-off bottom to prevent leakage. If that cracks, or just wears out, you’ll need a new bottle. I’ll report back how it holds up over the summer. But for now I’m delighted to know that when I sip from my bottle, I’m getting clean water from a truly Clean Bottle.
